The Lea County Humane
Society is committed to creating a safe and secure
environment for the animals of Lea County by promoting
animal awareness and humane care through education,
community outreach, and sheltering and adoption
programs. |

Vision
The Lea County Humane Society is
dedicated to providing a suitable shelter to compassionately
care for homeless and neglected animals and provide the
community with a reliable source of healthy animals that can be
adopted.
For the 1st quarter of 2006 we have saved 24 cats & 64
dogs, of these - 10 cats & 44 dogs have been adopted into
new homes. In total 88 animals have been given a second
chance at life in just the first quarter of this year!
Goals
1. To maintain a dedicated, stable
board of directors that will set policy and provide oversight of our mission.
2. To develop a positive public
image and create a positive impact in our community.
3. To identify and secure
resources in the community to accomplish our goals and to manage those
resources wisely and with forethought.
4. To employ capable and caring
professional staff to meet the needs of the animals on a daily basis.
5. To improve animal care in the
community through education and outreach and insure a high level of care to
the animals in our shelter.
6. To develop strong positive
relationships with area animal control agencies and local veterinarians for
the continued enhancement of animal care at our facility and in the community.
