The Mortgage Loan Process

Here at Home Pro Mortgage we realize that many people are under the impression that getting a new mortgage loan is somewhat like "a watched pot that never boils", a long drawn out process. It doesn't have to be that way!

The Mortgage Loan Process can be a smooth transaction, sometimes taking less than a week. When you apply at Home Pro Mortgage, we understand that you have a busy life and don't need us intruding on it, constantly asking for this or that.

Of course there are some documents you will need to supply us with. But we try to request all we will need from you at the beginning of the process. Some common items you will probably have to supply are:

1. Your last two (2) years Income Tax Returns,
2. Your last two (2) months of paycheck stubs,
3. Your rent receipts or cancelled checks for your current house payment for the last year,
4. And three (3) months of bank statements.

When you apply for a mortgage loan, though your original application may have been online or a short form, there is a standard application called at 1003. This is a long application (usually four pages) but we will sit down with you to fill it out or we can even do it over the phone. It won't take as long as you think!

Within three days of your application, there will be documents we have prepared for your review and signature. These are all forms required in the process, and usually are needed for verification of the information you have provided in your application. After that...we do the rest!

Sometimes in the process you may have questions, or not understand some of the terms we use in the mortgage business. We have provided a comprehensive list of terms you may have some questions about. When we have finished processing your loan, we will schedule a "loan closing" with the title company and you. Your loan documents will be signed at this closing.
