Hobbs is located in the Southeast corner of New Mexico, five miles from the Texas Border.

The population of Hobbs is approx. 28,657.

The approx. number of families is 11,968.

The amount of land area in Hobbs is 18.93 sq. miles.




The Weather:
Our part of the state enjoys very mild winters, and very warm summers.  In the winter we have mild days, and cold nights. In the summer we have warm to hot days and cool desert nights.   Our Spring generally comes early, and Winters come late. The humidity index is low, and rain is scarce.

Public Transportation:
Forget long distance commuting and traffic jams. The city itself enjoys no traffic snarls and no long commuting from place to place. In most cases, one can travel from one end of town to the other within 15 or 20 minutes.  

We have grown very used to uncrowded highways and pleasurable excursions on our state's highways.  In addition, there is interstate access within 90 miles.  Hobbs is situate to the East by Interstate 27, the north by Interstate 40, the West by Interstate 25, and the South by Interstate 20 and Interstate 10, all within a few hours driving distance.
