Partnership for Project Living Water

Project Living Water is a church planting and humanitarian aid partnership between Exit 416 Ministries, Extreme Missionary Adventures and local Christians in Central Asia. Throughout the desert regions of Central Asia there are thousands of villages where entire families live on less than five gallons of dirty river water per day.  Imagine only five gallons of contaminated water for all of the drinking, cooking and cleaning for a family of six people!  Clean water is a vital need for these families.  That's why XMA has trained and equipped a team of national Christian well drillers who now go from village to village drilling water wells. There is another vital resource that is even more scarce in Central Asia than clean water - the living Word of God.  These villages are one hundred percent Muslim.  Not a single Christian and no way for anyone to even hear the true Word of God.  Clean water projects provide an opportunity for XMA teams and national Christians to enter the villages, demonstrate Christ's love through meeting physical needs and share Living Water through oral Bible stories. Three years ago XMA purchased and shipped a small, trailer mounted water well drilling rig to our partners in Central Asia and began training a team of local Christians to operate it.  It has been a long, painful, expensive, time consuming training process but finally in 2010 they started hitting water in a few of the villages. Since the people in these remote villages speak obscure, unwritten languages there is no scripture in their languages.  XMA has also been supporting and training several local Christian teams as they translate God's Word into oral Bible stories in these unwritten languages.  We now have basic oral Bibles in three of these unwritten languages and are continuing work on several more. Finally, after over three years of work we are seeing some results.  In 2010 our national drilling team drilled four good wells that are now pumping cool, clean water in the dry desert villages.  There are also now twenty-five separate small groups (house churches) meeting in those villages to study and talk about God's Word.  It's been a very long struggle and, at times, seemed like a lot of wasted effort and money. But as we stood in that dry, desolate village drinking the cool water and hearing reports of twenty-five groups of previously unreached people meeting to learn God's Word we knew it was all worth it. Our vision for Project Living Water is to see the love of Christ spread throughout Central Asia.  The opportunity to have fresh, clean water is opening doors in villages previously closed to the Gospel.  There are still many more villages in need of clean water and, more importantly, God's Living Water.  The doors are open for our teams to come in but we need prayer partners and financial support to keep our well-drilling and church-planting teams working. Your investment of $3,000 will get our national well drilling team to a village and cover the cost of pipes, pump and other supplies for one well. Now that we have oral Bible stories translated and recorded into these unwritten languages we can use AudiBibles, small solar powered digital audio players to share God's Word.  With these AudiBible players house church leaders will have a lasting record of God's Word to share with others after the well drilling team moves on. Your investment of $30 will provide one AudiBible with God's Word in a local, unwritten language. We also need volunteers to go work with our teams.  American volunteers are a tremendous encouragement to our partners over there.  They also attract more of the local villagers so the volunteers and our partners have more interaction with villagers and more opportunities to talk about Christ.  Volunteers can also share God's Word with villagers using the AudiBibles.
